What is the Graphics Team?
Although “graphics” does not come to mind when people mention “Robotics,” the Graphics Team is an incredibly important part of Saints Robotics. Led by Angela Liu, the Graphics Team is in charge of overlooking the Media Division, making icons for the website, designing spirit gear (e.g. banners, t-shirts, flags, pins/buttons, etc.), creating displays for the VEX team, helping the Public Relations (PR) Team with community outreach (i.e. making fliers for informing parents, thank-you cards/informational material for sponsors, and more). The Graphics Team also works with build to decorate the robot, the dolly, the crate, and the pit.
The Media Division
The Media Division, led by Tyler Okamoto, is in charge of taking photos and making videos for the PR team’s sponsor/advertising materials and the website. By working with the PR team, it also plays a role in community outreach by spreading the word of the FRC and VEX competitions.
Graphics Team’s Plan
This year, the Graphics Team is working harder than before by aiming for the Imagery Award. For the first time ever, Saints Robotics has a decorated crate and a thought-out design for pit decorations. After the FRC competition this year, the Graphics Team plans to experiment with Autodesk’s 3DS Max in order to enter the animation competition in the 2011 season.
