At Saints Robotics, we have designed a simplified electronics “box” that we intend to move from year to year.
Electronics is a sub team of Build and is lead by Derik Radcliffe.

Here we have the basic design of the Electronics layout:

We primarily use this diagram and the electronics box it represents to teach each piece of the Electronics as a system. Students learn about the correlation between each component and needed information of that each piece is used for. With these skills students can look at a new project and know what type of electronics will be needed to get the system to work.

As we progress we find that the technology becomes simpler as electronics components are put together to create simpler systems. We find that teaching with the older diagram helps get a basis on the information which makes the student more adaptive to the new equipment that we will be using and the new technology to come.
