Overview
Nicknamed the Om-bot, the robot used a 4-wheel drive system in the 2009 Lunacy competition. The slick wheels, which were required to play the game, decreased the traction on the field, and the conveyor belt inside the robot was used to collect balls up into the hopper on the top. The ball shooter used two PVC barrels to shoot out the balls into trailers.
Materials
The robot was constructed mainly out of wood. This is the first time where we used wood on such a large scale, and we gained valuable experience with designing with the material.
